Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between Microblading, Combo, Nano & Powder Brows?
Microblading and Nano are both realistic “hair stroke” style looks. The biggest difference is the tools used to create the look.
Microblading is a technique with a tool called a “micro-blade.”
Nano Brows utilize a permanent makeup tattoo machine.
Powder Brows/ Shading, is done using a permanent makeup tattoo machine. Usually to simulate powder brow makeup (hence the name Powder Brows), or a more defined brow.
*Combo Brows is a mixture of a hair stroke style and shading.
This is the most popular, and versatile option. You can achieve a very natural look, or makeup look depending on where and how much shading is added. This is the best option for most clients.*
Is it painful? Do you use numbing?
We use topical lidocaine throughout the procedure to keep you as comfortable as possible.
Clients have compared the highest pain level comparable to tweezing or threading. Some clients also fall asleep during the procedure.
How do you choose a color? I don’t want it too dark.
The color will be chosen to match your brow hair, not the hair on your head. If you dye your hair black, and your brow hair is light brown, the color chosen would still be chosen to match your natural brow hair as close as possible.
How long will my Microblading/Powder Brows last?
They fade over time and should be refreshed every 1-1. 5 years for maintenance.
Fading is desired as your skin and facial structure will change as aging occurs.
However there is no predicting how much they will fade, or how long it will take to completely disappear. Depending on your after care, skin type, lifestyle, skincare routines, health, etc., every one will have different long term results.
Do you work over old microblading/tattooing?
Yes! Please book under “Prior Work” under the New Client Section. You can text photos to 951-259-7512 if you are unsure if you need recommendations for removal prior.
Do I need a touch-up after my first session?
Permanent makeup is considered a multi-step process.
The first appointment is about starting the foundation, building shape and symmetry.
The touch-up appointment is about seeing how the skin heals and retains pigment, making adjustments to achieve better symmetry, adding more microblading hair strokes, adjusting color if needed/desired, and filling areas that may have lost pigment during the healing process.
If your brows are very asymmetrical, have extreme variations of density, or you want to make large changes, it will likely take more than 1 session before you get to your desired result.
Rarely, a 3rd session is needed to complete the process, most often if you have a very oily skin type, or we are trying to cover up an old tattoo.
In MOST cases, only 1 touch up is necessary.
How often do I need to come in?
The initial touch up should be done between weeks 6-12 after the first session. Touch ups vary depending on skin type, sun exposure, products used, etc.
An annual touch up is recommended about every year.
What can I expect after? Is there downtime?
How long will the appointment take?
The initial session takes around 2-3 hours.
This includes the consultation, taking before and after photos, shaping the brows, numbing and the actual procedure.
Touch up appointments take around 45mins-1.5 hours
How do I care for my fresh brows?
At your initial session, you will receive a complimentary after care kit with everything you need! This kit is enough to last you through the first, and touch up session.
See “PRE/AFTERCARE” page.
I’m nervous for people to see me/or I’m going out of town, how bad is the healing process?
Healing looks a little different for everyone. It may be more noticeable if you have very little natural brow hair or don’t wear makeup often. Because your brows are a fresh wound, it’s important to keep them clean and out of the sun to avoid infection or sunburn. Aside from that, most clients find the healing process easy and don’t feel the need to “hide out” during recovery.
Should I get Botox before or after my appointment?
It is recommend to get your brows done before Botox, or once it has settled. This will give us the opportunity to achieve the most symmetrical results.
You must wait 2 weeks after Botox to have your brows done (botox rules, not mine!). You can have botox done immediately after your brows.
Is it true I won’t have to draw my eyebrows in everyday now?
That depends! Do you normally fill your brows in daily? Do you prefer bold and defined? Or do you rarely care for brow makeup?
Microblading can provide the shape and symmetry so its easier and quicker to apply makeup everyday.
Combo or Powder brow can give a denser appearance, so you won’t always feel the need to fill in your brows. But permanent makeup is LOW MAINTENANCE, not no maintenance. It is a tattoo and is under the skin, it will never look as bold as fresh makeup. But it can significantly lower your makeup application time.
I have a mole, can you cover it?
“It’s never a good idea to have a tattoo placed too close to (or over) a mole. Changes occurring in a mole — to its symmetry, border, color, size, shape or texture — are potentially key warning signs that the lesion may be evolving into a melanoma or another type of skin cancer. It’s important that all moles are left completely visible, or you could risk delaying detection. It is also not advisable to tattoo over a melanoma scar. It’s important to be able to look at the scar in case of recurrence. Tattooing will cover the area and potentially allow a recurrence to be missed.”

No Guarantees
Microblading and all permanent cosmetic services are a multi-step process. Because of this, perfect color saturation and exact symmetry cannot be guaranteed after the first session.
Healed results vary from client to client, as everyone’s skin responds and heals differently. Some clients may require additional sessions (at an additional cost) to achieve their desired results.
While every effort is made to provide the best possible outcome, factors such as skin type, lifestyle, health, and adherence to pre-care and aftercare instructions can affect results.
Following all pre-care and aftercare instructions is essential for proper healing. These guidelines are designed to minimize bleeding and skin sensitivity during the service. Excessive bleeding during the procedure can dilute or expel pigment, which may result in lighter or uneven healed results.
