Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between Microblading, Combo & Powder Brows?

Microblading is a technique of tattooing individual “hair strokes” into the skin with a tool called a “micro-blade.”

Powder Brows, or Shading, is done using a tattoo machine and tattoo needles made specifically made for permanent makeup, usually to simulate powder brow makeup (hence the name Powder Brows). Can be done from sheer to bold, depending on personal preference.

Combo Brows is a mixture of Microblading and Powder Brows.
This is the most popular, and versatile option. You can achieve a very natural look, or a heavy makeup look depending on where and how much shading is added. This is the best option for those who have very little hair and are looking for a natural brow vs microblading alone.

How long will the appointment take?

The initial session takes around 2-2.5 hours.
This includes the consultation, taking before and after photos, shaping the brows, numbing and the actual procedure.
Touch up appointments take around 1-1.5 hours

Is it painful? Do you use numbing?

We use topical lidocaine throughout the procedure to keep you as comfortable as possible.
Clients have compared the highest pain level comparable to tweezing or threading. Some clients also fall asleep during the procedure.

How do you choose a color? I don’t want it too dark.

The color will be chosen to match your brow hair, not the hair on your head. If you dye your hair black, and your brow hair is light brown, the color chosen would still be chosen to match your natural brow hair as close as possible.

How long will my Microblading/Powder Brows last?

They fade over time and should be refreshed every 1-1. 5 years for maintenance.
Fading is desired as your skin and facial structure will change as aging occurs.
However there is no predicting how much they will fade, or how long it will take to completely disappear. Depending on your after care, skin type, lifestyle, skincare routines, health, etc., every one will have different long term results.

Do I need a touch-up after my first session?

Permanent makeup is considered a multi-step process.
The first appointment is about starting the foundation, building shape and symmetry.
The touch-up appointment is about seeing how the skin heals and retains pigment, making adjustments to achieve better symmetry, adding more microblading hair strokes, adjusting color if needed/desired, and filling areas that may have lost pigment during the healing process.
If your brows are very asymmetrical, have extreme variations of density, or you want to make large changes, it will likely take more than 1 session before you get to your desired result.
Some may need a 3rd session to complete the process. Especially if you have an oily skin type, or we are trying to cover up an old tattoo.
In MOST cases, only 1 touch up is necessary.

How often do I need to come in?

The initial touch up should be done between weeks 4-12 after the first session.

Recommended Annual Schedule:
Microblading: 9-18 months
Combo Brows: 12-24 months
Powder Brows: 12-24 months

How do I schedule a touch up?

You can book an appointment online through the “BOOK NOW” section.

What can I expect after? Is there downtime?

See “PRE/AFTERCARE” page.

How do I care for my fresh brows?

At your initial session, you will receive a complimentary after care kit with everything you need! This kit is enough to last you through the first, and touch up session.
After care is available for purchase at returning sessions if needed.

Is it true I won’t have to draw my eyebrows in everyday now?

That depends! Do you normally fill your brows in daily? Do you prefer bold and defined? Or do you rarely care for brow makeup?
Microblading can provide the shape and symmetry so its easier and quicker to apply makeup everyday.
Combo or Powder brow can give a denser appearance, so you won’t always feel the need to fill in your brows

Should I get Botox before or after my appointment?

It is recommend to get your brows done before Botox, or once it has settled. This will give us the opportunity to achieve the most symmetrical results.
You must wait 2 weeks after Botox to have your brows done.

I have a mole, can you cover it?

“It’s never a good idea to have a tattoo placed too close to (or over) a mole. Changes occurring in a mole — to its symmetry, border, color, size, shape or texture — are potentially key warning signs that the lesion may be evolving into a melanoma or another type of skin cancer. It’s important that all moles are left completely visible, or you could risk delaying detection. It is also not advisable to tattoo over a melanoma scar. It’s important to be able to look at the scar in case of recurrence. Tattooing will cover the area and potentially allow a recurrence to be missed.”
